Requirements Capture Software

We have been working hard over the last 6 years to revolutionize the processes of capturing, managing and delivering software requirements. Along the way, we've used some great tools for visualizing your requirements. But there are a few areas where the existing tools just don't cut it. That's why we are excited to release Capture™, the first of many products designed to improve the requirements industry.

Capture isn't just another requirements management tool, it is the first of its kind in the space of requirements elicitation. Most requirements management tools fail to provide a fast and easy way to capture requirements, thus we find over 80% of Business Analysts still using Microsoft Office products. The result, countless hours preparing meeting minutes and parsing through pages of notes to determine business rules from features. We designed Capture with the Analyst in mind while simplifying common tasks through an entirely collaborative means of storing, tagging and integrating your requirements.

Easy from the start

A simplified canvas.

Capture "stamps" each requirement with the date, time, author and Quick Tag so you always know where you are as you read. As requirements are entered they are automatically displayed in order they were captured, much like a real conversation. Multiple users can enter requirements at the same time within the same meeting. These conversations provide a playback like experience so you know exactly who said what and when. Capture gives you a new and natural way to read and manage the requirements you've captured during a meeting or a JAM Session.

Quick Tags

Traceability as you type.

Tags have become a part of our everyday lives, from Facebook to Flickr tags allow us to organize everything we do. Capture was designed from the beginning to support quick tagging, making traceability a seamless part of your workflow. There are two types of tags, People and Common tags, People tags automatically identify who said what during a session while Common tags provide a means for categorizing content based on your own schema. For example, prior to a session you may define tags for Features, Business Rules and common topics pertaining to the meeting.

Compatibility and sharing

Share your requirements.

Capture makes it easy to integrate with leading visualization tools such as iRise's Definition Center. Either enter a URL to a Definition Center or import an xml file and Capture will parse the iRise chapters giving you the scenario and page names from iRise as tags that are instantly available to the Quick Tag feature in Capture. You can also export requirements from Capture to .csv providing the ability to share with other products.

Project Panel

Find conversations and requirements fast.

Capture provides an easy to use Project Panel for accessing previous sessions and creating new sessions. Tag Search makes locating the requirements you’re looking for effortless — even if you don’t know remember which session it was in. Say you’re searching for a requirement, and the only thing you recall about it is the phrase “sign on.” From the Project Panel, start typing “sign on,” and Capture generates a list of sessions that contain those tags. Gone are the days of sorting the countless meeting minutes or Office files trying to locate who said what in a given meeting.
