2017 Industry Innovators Finalist
OneSpring is pleased to announce we have been named one of the “Most Innovative Companies in Washington D.C.”, by Washington Technology for 2017.
This achievement was accomplished through heavy investments in redefining how software projects are defined and designed to help reduce confusion and rework. In fact, OneSpring has invested over 2 million dollars to help solve the problem of government rework as it pertains to complex software implementations. The use of Agile Scrum, Human Centered Design (HCD), and Design Thinking all play a part in our investments. We retooled our consultants and hired new employees with specialized skills in HCD and Design. We invested in training and Scrum Certifications. From a technological standpoint we are using software visualization and rapid prototyping tools to test-drive applications in a fraction of the time it takes to develop coded applications. Utilizing these skill-sets in parallel can reduce rework by up to 50%. This innovation has allowed OneSpring to move from subbing relationships just 3 years ago to being awarded prime contracts at USDA and IRS where we currently hold Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA) based on this approach.
OneSpring continues to invest in refining this approach and adopting new technologies to make it more streamlined and cheaper for the government. We see Customer Experience (CX), User Experience (UX) and rapid prototyping becoming more and more important in the future as government strives to obtain better interactions with its workforce and the public. It is not all about making things useable, it is also about driving down costs and developing the right products in less time which helps us all. We are just at the beginning of what is possible and look forward to seeing this approach grow and evolve.
